Hi Joe,
(Re: yours of 12-Sep-1998, "Education?")

JM> And what would you present to balance them and most
JM> importantly... HOW?

As I have pointed out before, the facts and evidence that
the Creation Science speakers presented in that decade of
hundreds of open, public, scientific debates in the 1970s
would be an excellent "balance" to the always changing and
self-correcting evolutionary speculations! Don't you
remember that even leading evolutionist Niles Eldredge wrote
that;

"And scientists, until recently have been showing
up at the debates ill-prepared for what awaits them.
Thinking the creationists are uneducated,
Bible-thumping clods, they are soon routed by a steady
onslaught of direct attacks on a wide variety of
scientific topics."

". . . . . Creationists today - at least the majority
of their spokesmen - are highly educated, intelligent
people. Skilled debaters, they have always done their
homework. And they nearly always seem better informed
than their opponents, who are reduced too often to a
bewildered state of incoherence."

(The Monkey Business, Niles Eldredge, 1982, p. 17)

JM> teaches sectarian beliefs. ie. Christian Fundamentalism.

Where is your problem? Why wasn't THAT a problem for the
States which introduced Balanced Treatment? There is no
reason why any suitable textbooks should exist until the
legislation was passed, and the States called for
expressions of interest from people and organizations in
the provision of suitable text books, was there?

[. . . .]
JM> There is no scientific evidence against what is being
JM> taught in biology, geology, physics, paleontology,
JM> anthropology, sociology and astronomy classes. It *IS* the
JM> science.

It is not to be wondered that YOU are totally ignorant of
the evidence against evolution. That is precisely why there
was a need for Balanced Treatment, so that the counter
arguments could become known by students. It is obvious that
you have been indoctrinated both by the 'educational'
instutitions as well as by the media.

Even worse than that, it is likely that you have failed
to correct this personal situation in yourself, by avoiding
making a study of the opposing arguments, which so befuddled
the evolutionist debaters that they admitted that the
Creation Science speakers nearly always won!

JM> You are just desperately attampting to have
JM> science include the Christian Genesis story as science.

Since the Balanced Treatment legislation expressly
excluded any such teaching then that could NOT have
occurred! I am left to conclude that you know full well that
a Balanced Treatment situation would leave evolutionism in
rags and disarray and as a nonsense science where it would
look just as silly as it actually is!

It is obvious that the facts and the truth of the matter
must come a poor second to some other matter in your scheme
of things! Why don't you come out and admit just what that
is?

Laurie
