Hi Martin,

JS>> I have no master but my God in whom I trust He is my lord and
JS>> savior! The Bible says that God wants all men to repent and come
JS>> to the real knowledge of Him.

MG> Say preacher...you still forgot to offer any nonbiblical evidence
MG> that this god of yours exists

Okay. I can see the situation that is being faced here, and as a Christian
myself I can offer you some tangible evidence that supports the existance
of God.

Do not get the wrong idea about me, I do not seek to "win another convert
for the lord", I just want to give you some answers to a question that you
have been asking. You have a very clear and sound mind; apply your
thinking to what I'm going to write, let me know what you think.

The first piece of evidence for God is something we all see every day when
we send an email, write a cheque - it is the date. Our entire history is
divided between BC & AD, that is before Christ lived, & after his birth.
If the Bible was fake & God just a fairy story, would such a long lasting
global influence have been exherted on our calender?
What is your opinion?

The second piece of evidence is that which is provided by archaeologists.
I quote from "It Makes Sense", a book by a guy called Stephen Gaukroger.

"We have archaeological evidence from as long ago as two thousand BC,
which confirms many of the details given in the Bible - facts about
the city Abraham came from; the unearthing of Soloman's military
installations; inscriptions from the time of Moses; and remarkable
confirmation that the Jews really did go into exile in the sixth century
BC."

"Scholars had dismissed, for example, John's description of the pool
of Bethesda in chapter 5 of his gospel as "Poetic Licence", but archae-
ologists have now excavated the whole site and discovered all 5 porches
and an inscription saying that the water has healing properties."

Donald Wiseman, professor of assyriology at London University writes

"No fact of archaeology so far discovered contradicts the biblical
record".

If the biblical record is as reliable as it claims, it's worth looking
into. I tell you now that in my opinion, the bible can stand up to any
question asked of it. If there is a God, and he is as powerful as the
bible says he is, then he too is well able to answer any question asked
of
him.

I look forward to your response. Have a nice week!!
BTW, I am writing from England, where are you?
