The question hadn't been answered, and STILL has not been, so I will
ask you directly a third time. This time I will make it is simple as
possible so you don't miss it (again.)

1. The story of Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem for a census
comes from the Gospel of Luke.

2. The Gospel of Luke was first circulated among people who would know
from experience whether that story was plausible.

3. They apparently found it plausible, since the Gospel was considered
authoritative.

4. Why, if the story was so farfetched, did they accept it?
