After the first 5 days, no. Having done an 18 day fast, I can tell you
that the first 3 days are normal, then you have 2 days of all hell
breaking loose...literally. Once the shits were over, the hunger pains
stopped, too.

By day 10, I could hear people talking to me in English and couldn't
understand a word they were saying. I FELT great, though...very light and
clean, colors were intensified, the natural light was wonderful. I
didn't even feel any consternation that I couldn't understand what people
were saying to me. I DID get a bit upset when I looked in the bathroom
mirror and didn't see my own reflection, though. What I saw was someone
I didn't recognize at all.

(I was trying to lose weight. Stupid, but it was impressed on me how
important NOT being fat was. I gained 5 lbs....and didn't eat a thing in
those 18 days.)
